| The Holy Temple and the place upon which it stood, (and will stand), Mount Moriah, are together, perhaps the most misunderstood facts, (of history, spirituality and destiny), in the world today. Nowhere is this more evident than in the global media. Lodged deep within the consciousness of humanity, yet exploited mercilessly by various and sundry parties and interests, the Holy Temple and Mount Moriah remain shrouded within thick clouds of ignorance. All this is by way of introducing the nature of The Temple Institute's relationship with the media. The major international media outlets, whether print or electronic, frequently make contact with the Institute only when they are looking to add color to an already preconceived notion of what they want to portray. A prime example of this is the piece from October 16, 2000. Having concluded from the start that armageddon was the subject, and that the Temple Mount was the likely location, The Temple Institute, the Temple Mount, and the people of Israel, were all misrepresented for the purpose of furthering this notion, and furthering the unflattering picture of Israel that the writers had intended from the start.
The Temple Institute turns down many requests for interviews and for on sight filming for this very reason. In most cases a journalist's preconceived notions and intended angle can be sounded out very quickly. On the other hand, some journalists do come to praise, and not to bury the work and the deep convictions represented by The Temple Institute. More often, these journalists are writing for newspapers or periodicals that serve a less ignorant public: The Jerusalem Post, Chabad Magazine, etc., although more mainstream journals have also written the Institute up in a very positive light. (Click , for an example).
Whatever the intended angle, The Temple Institute will continue to serve as a lightening rod for journalists pursuing the big story, for the simple reason that we too, are pursuing the big story: building the Third Temple - a house of prayer and reconciliation for all mankind.
